30/4/18 This term we are excited to begin introducing some of the fantastic practices we learnt about at the 'Learning through Play: What Next for Year 4 and Beyond' workshop in Auckland last term. This professional development opportunity built on what we have already implemented at West Melton. On this page you can keep up to date with our learning through play philosophy - we will post articles and research incidentally throughout the year.
You can help our learning community by donating any of the following: - Blocks - Lego - Cardboard boxes - Newspaper - Construction materials (screw drivers, wood, cable reels, PVC pipes - anything and everything!) - Broken toys (don't throw them out!) - Broken electrical appliances (lithium free, plugs removed) - Board games - Cellotape, cellotape, and more cellotape - Staples - Felt pens - Washed bottle tops (plastic and metal) - Glue guns - Arts and crafts materials (pipe cleaners, paper, fabric, paint, glue) - Sewing materials - Wrapping paper - String - Storage boxes - Anything else you can think of!
